Marvin John Heemeyer (October 28, 1951 – June 4, 2004) was an American automobile muffler repair shop owner who gained notoriety for demolishing numerous buildings in Granby, Colorado, on June 4, 2004. Heemeyer had been in a long-running dispute with the town government over zoning issues and other matters, and he believed that the town was conspiring against him.

The Killdozer Rampage

On the day of the rampage, Heemeyer drove a modified Komatsu D355A bulldozer, which he had heavily armored with steel plates and other materials, through the streets of Granby. He used the bulldozer to destroy several buildings, including the town hall, the library, and the home of the mayor. Heemeyer also fired upon police officers who tried to stop him, and he eventually died in a standoff with police when his bulldozer was disabled.
