UK General Election 2019: Key Points
Conservative Victory
The 2019 United Kingdom general election resulted in a Conservative victory. The party won 365 seats, 48 more than in 2017, and 43.6% of the vote, up from 42.3% in the previous election.
Conservative Gains in Labour Heartlands
The Conservatives made significant gains in areas in Wales and northern England that had traditionally been Labour strongholds. This helped them to secure a majority of 80 seats in the House of Commons.
Conservative Majority
The Conservatives gained 54 seats from Labour, 3 from the Liberal Democrats, and 1 from the Speaker. This gave them a clear majority in the House of Commons, allowing them to form a government without the need for a coalition.
Registered Voters
