The Chicago White Sox announced two roster moves on Monday, designating reliever Jake Diekman for assignment and adding pitcher Tanner Banks to the active roster.
Diekman Designated for Assignment
Diekman, 35, struggled in 2023, posting a 6.75 ERA in 42 appearances.
The left-hander was designated for assignment to make room for Banks on the active roster.
Banks Added to Active Roster
Banks, 27, was acquired by the White Sox from the Tampa Bay Rays in a trade last week.
The right-hander has a 3.72 ERA in 60 appearances this season.
The White Sox will face the Minnesota Twins on Monday night at Guaranteed Rate Field.
